Conversion to Academy

The Governing Body has decided that the school should become an academy and join the LEO Academy Trust.

Following careful consideration the Governing Body concluded that collaborating as a partner, alongside Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy, Cheam Fields Academy, Brookfield Academy and Cheam Common PrimaryAcademy, in the LEO Academy Trust would be the best way to provide further opportunities for the school's pupils and staff. As part of the Trust, we will share the high level of knowledge and skills of Cheam Fields staff and benefit from improved professional development and training.

You will find a link on the LEO website if you would like more details and information about the LEO Academy Trust, which can also be accessed directly via:

Your views on this matter are important to the governors and leadership team of the school. Please send any comments in writing to the Chair of Governors via the school office at the above address, marking the envelope ‘Academy Consultation’. Alternatively email

Please let us know your views by the end of the Summer Term – 19th July 2017.

If the proposals proceed to plan and the necessary formal arrangements are agreed between the school, the LEO Academy Trust and the Department for Education, the Governing Body hopes that Manor Park will become an academy and join the LEO Academy Trust on 1st November 2017.

Year 6 Kingswood day 2

Another fantastic day has been had by all of the children. They have all have started making their own Kingswood Mini Movie, in which they have combined pictures of them taking part in activities, text and music. They have even made their own backing track to play alongside the video. Many of the children have been refining their aiming and shooting skills in archery and have practised their map reading when taking part in orienteering. All of the children enjoyed the Night Line activity. During this activity the children were blindfolded and had to follow an obstacle course whilst being lead by a partner. This evening the children are going to be putting on their dancing shoes, ready for Club Kingswood Disco. All are continuing to have an excellent time!

Year 6 Kingswood Trip

Year 6 Kingswood Trip
The children have had an action packed first day of their residential visit! This morning some children began their day by starting to make their own computer game in 'Game Creation'. The children worked hard to make a maze full of different rooms ready to add characters and tasks to. Other children began their day by flying down the zip wire. Many of the children have scaled the climbing wall, making it right to the top! Some of the groups have had a go at abseiling down the tower backwards, lots of the children said that the first steps backwards were the hardest because they needed to put their trust in the ropes. In the afternoon, the children enjoyed a visit from Ms Scrase, the Headteacher, who was incredibly pleased to see the children having such a good time, setting and achieving their own goals and challenges. This evening we will be taking part in a group activity called 'Trail of Mystery' where the children will need to work together to problem solve.

Kingswood 2016 Trip

The children have had an amazing first full day and are already looking forward to tomorrow!
